Casa Margaretha

Is a picturesque little village house in Rute, within the lake and mountain region of Córdoba, Andalucía, ideal for an individual, couple or up to 3 people. Centrally situated when looking for property or just a well-earned break. Located 100 metres from the woods at the edge of the ‘Subbética' Natural Park in a cul-de-sac (part of the street providing an almost traffic-free environment), which has been upgraded with elevated pavements, orange trees and shaded sitting areas. The neighbours live a traditional life; many sit out on the pavement during the cooler hours chatting to one another. The house is over 100 years old, built of stone with exposed timber beams. The front leads into the living room, which has:

•  beamed ceiling and fan
•  comfortable sofa, chairs and dining area
•  TV and DVD player
•  wood burning stove

Three steps and a short passage lead to the kitchen which is equipped with:

•  modern gas cooker with oven
•  refrigerator
•  microwave and toaster
•  cooking utensils, glasses, cutlery and crockery

Stairs lead up to a galleried landing with a study area and the bedroom, which is a large beamed room with:

•  double bed and bedside cabinets
•  wardrobe and chest of drawers
•  futon bed/chair
•  ceiling fan
•  remote controlled air conditioning

The en-suite bathroom is luxuriously appointed with:

•  separate shower
•  full length bath and WC
•  washbasin
•  heated towel rail

Downstairs the back door opens to the garden with a utility room (second W.C.), washing machine, sink, ironing board and iron. The garden has a secluded sitting/dining area with table and chairs, shaded by a grape vine and a south facing sun deck with sun loungers. Casa Margaretha was lovingly restored in 2005/6 to a very comfortable and cosy village house.
